My New Sony A7R5: A Camera Transition
“From Nikon to Sony: A photographer’s journey of change, regret, and rediscovery. Trading the D850 for the A7R5, I found unexpected joy in a lighter, more compact setup.”
Goodbye Nikon, Hello Sony!
After saying farewell to my beloved Nikon D850 and its impressive lenses, I took the plunge and welcomed a new companion into my photography journey: the Sony A7R5 paired with a Tamron 35-150 mm lens. It’s a bold move, considering how prestigious Nikon is in the world of photography. But sometimes, change is necessary!
A Shift in Philosophy
Initially, my main goal was to lean towards AI-generated images, hoping to transition my focus entirely away from traditional photography. However, as anyone who has ever sold a cherished piece of equipment can agree, regreting the decision is all too common. The lure of a camera that could rival my Nikon came calling, and before I knew it, my new Sony was in my hands.
Surprising Satisfaction
Despite my reservations, I must admit that I am really quite happy with my decision. The lighter body of the Sony A7R5 and its compact size make it a breeze to carry while exploring the great outdoors. Sure, the colors sometimes feel a bit off, and editing in Photoshop or Lightroom presents a minor challenge, but I’m slowly getting used to it. The joy of capturing moments without the heft of my previous setup is truly liberating.
So far, my adventure with the Sony A7R5 has been met with satisfying results, and I’m hopeful that this new gear will help me evolve in my photography journey without overspending again!
